So, what was the secret to the success? According to attendees it was the high number of participants, the professional content and as always the chance to network with colleagues from around the world in a fun and lively atmosphere.
The theme of the conference was "Driving Competitive Advantage - how to get ahead and stay ahead in a competitive landscape", a fitting theme considering the current economic climate.
The keynote speaker was Gale Crosley founder and principal of Crosley+Company who kicked off the conference with the thought provoking keynote session entitled "At the Crossroads - Efficient and Effective Growth". This session covered the Practical Growth Model from Crosley's newest book (At the Crossroads: The Remarkable CPA Firm that Nearly Crashed, then Soared). The presentation represented a variety of the best concepts, tactics and implementation approaches to lead an accountancy firm out of a "book of business" model, but into one that is positioned to take advantage of opportunities in today's market.
Another guest speaker at the conference was Emmy Miller, co-founder and President of Liberty Business Strategies. Emmy's presentation "Winning with Talent" provided a solid foundation for Morison International's new "Young Talent" initiative which was also launched during the annual conference.
Our newly appointed CEO, Liza Robbins, presented the future of Morison International - which was an inspiring insight on the road to our future success.
The host firm was Morison Cogen Weinberg, whose main office is located in Philadelphia. The firm acted as a great host and played an important role in organising the social programme for delegates, companions and guests.
Next year marks Morison International's 20th anniversary, the annual conference for this special year will take place in Paris on the 9th -11th June 2010.
